Diversity Counseling
Welcome to my psychotherapy practice, where I provide a confidential, compassionate, and supportive space for individuals to explore their challenges, foster self-understanding, and cultivate positive change. I am dedicated to offering personalized and evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help clients navigate life’s difficulties, improve their mental and emotional well-being, and work towards their unique personal goals. Whether you are seeking support for stress, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, or other concerns, my aim is to empower you on your journey toward healing and a more fulfilling life.
Services
Diversity counseling provides a therapeutic space where your unique cultural background, identity, and lived experiences are understood, respected, and central to your care. I offer culturally sensitive assessments and interventions, tailoring the approach to effectively address how factors like race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, and socioeconomic status impact your mental health and well-being. The goal is to help you navigate challenges, including experiences of discrimination or oppression, and foster healing and personal growth in a way that honors your whole self.
Within the sanctuary of therapy, being truly heard and unconditionally supported is the fertile ground from which healing and transformation can finally take root and blossom.

Trauma Informed Care
Trauma-informed care in social work is an approach that requires practitioners and agencies to recognize and respond to the widespread impact of trauma on individuals, families, and communities. It involves social workers understanding how traumatic experiences can shape a client’s development, behavior, and overall well-being, and integrating this knowledge into all aspects of service delivery. This framework emphasizes creating physically and emotionally safe environments, fostering trust and transparency, promoting collaboration and mutuality, empowering clients by offering voice and choice, and being attuned to cultural, historical, and gender issues, all while actively seeking to avoid re-traumatization and support healing and resilience.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely recognized type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps individuals identify, challenge, and change unhelpful or destructive thought patterns, beliefs, and attitudes, and consequently, their behaviors and emotions.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness in therapy refers to the intentional and non-judgmental cultivation of present-moment awareness of one’s thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment as a therapeutic technique. Therapists teach clients mindfulness skills to help them observe their internal experiences with acceptance and curiosity, rather than reacting automatically or trying to suppress them. The goal is to reduce suffering, increase self-awareness, improve emotional regulation, and foster a more compassionate and less reactive stance towards one’s own experiences, ultimately contributing to psychological well-being and the ability to cope more effectively with stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges.
